By accessing or using StoryDNA, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

StoryDNA is a creative writing tool that helps writers develop their stories through guided question builders, AI-powered brainstorm suggestions, and analytical reports. These terms govern your use of all StoryDNA features and services.

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use StoryDNA only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the service to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content.

Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all content you create using StoryDNA. The StoryDNA platform, framework, and question content are owned by StoryDNA and protected by intellectual property laws.

All story content, answers, and creative works you produce within StoryDNA remain your intellectual property. You grant StoryDNA a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service (e.g., generating AI brainstorm suggestions and reports based on your answers). This license terminates when you delete your account.

Payment Terms

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

StoryDNA offers a 14-day Pro trial for all new users with no credit card required. After the trial period, your account automatically downgrades to the Free tier. Paid subscriptions (Plus at $12/month or $120/year, Pro at $22/month or $220/year) are billed at the start of each billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. DNA Credit packs are one-time purchases and are non-refundable.

AI-Generated Content

StoryDNA provides AI-assisted brainstorming features. AI suggestions are provided as creative aids and should not be considered professional advice. You are responsible for all creative decisions in your work.

Content generated by StoryDNA's AI features (brainstorm suggestions and reports) is intended as creative inspiration and does not constitute professional writing, legal, or business advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and making final decisions about all content in your creative works. AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your intended use.

Limitation of Liability

StoryDNA is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without any service level agreement (SLA) or uptime guarantees. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of StoryDNA shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to StoryDNA at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
